Hello again, today I will tell you about some of the strangest missing persons cases ever. I won’t talk about the most famous ones at I’m sure most people are aware of them but will tell you some lesser-known but still as strange cases of a person going missing.

James E Tedford

On December 1st, 1959, 68-year-old war veteran James E Tedford boarded a bus to Bennington after visiting his relatives and going back to the soldier's home he lived at. His relatives came with him to the bus and saw him off, when the bus reached its final destination, Tedford was gone. At some point between the last stop and Bennington, Tedford vanished. His luggage remained on his seat and eyewitnesses including the driver said he had never left his seat or the bus in the whole trip and was last seen sleeping. Police gave a description, 5'5, 116lbs wearing a cap, grey suit, and army trenchcoat. Nobody knows what happened to James Tedford and how it’s possible he could disappear while on a bus.

Owen Parfitt

In 1763 or 1768 as the dates vary, Owen Parfitt once a tailor and later a solider sat outside on his chair. He was almost entirely crippled and needed help with even the most menial of tasks. His immobility meant that his sister needed the help of a neighbor to carry him and place him on his chair on the front porch. His sister and neighbor left him on the porch to go out and when Parfitt's sister returned, Parfitt was gone. At the time, farmers and laborers were present around working the fields yet nobody saw Parfitt leave or anyone take him away. They all searched and could not find Parfitt, Parfitt because of his immobility meant he couldn't have walked. Later on, a skeleton was found but it was not Parfitt, till this day, nobody has any idea what happened to Owen Parfitt.

Mary Edna Badaracco

Mary Badaracco was a house cleaner in 1984, she had a troubled relationship with her husband Dominic Badaracco Sr and had even left him at times for short periods. Before she disappeared she found out Dominic was cheating on her, he had a history of cheating and domestic violence. Badaracco finally had enough and filed for divorce. Dominic claims he gave Badaracco $100,000 to leave and she packed her bags and left. Badaraccos car keys and wedding ring were left on the kitchen counter, her clothes were missing and so were all of the framed photos of her. Twelve days later Badaracco’s daughter's reported her missing.

Police didn’t seize her car as they found no evidence of foul play but later on the car disappeared never to be seen again. Less than a week after Badaracco went missing, a woman and her daughters moved in with Dominic. Dominic claimed he had moved in with his sister and was renting the house to the woman and her daughters but he later married her.

Six years after she disappeared, investigators received a tip from an informant that Badaracco was killed by the Hell’s Angels biker gang. Dominic's son Joseph is a member of the gang and reported Joseph and an accomplice Kendall killed Badaracco because she was going to go to the police with incriminating information about Dominic. Joseph was interviewed but refused to cooperate but Kendall did take a lie detector test which she failed and was later killed in a motorbike crash. A grand jury later began investing Dominic for the disappearance of his ex-wife and at some point, investigators claimed Dominic called the judge and asked for help, the judge said that Dominic tried to bribe him with $100,000 saying

“I’m only gonna say this one time . . . It’s worth 100 Gs,”

Dominic was convicted for bribery on the case and lost an appeal, Mary Badaracco has never been found.

Vivienne Cameron

In 1986, Vivienne Cameron and her husband Fergus Cameron were sitting in a hospital with Fergus bleeding from wounds to his back and a cut to his ear, Cameron claimed Fergus fell through a plate glass door but in truth, Cameron had found out Fergus had been having an affair with Beth Barnard and hit him with a wine glass. After they returned home at around midnight, Cameron dropped him off at his sister's and at around 3 am, called a phone to collect their two children lying that her husband had to go to the hospital even though they went for hours earlier. In the morning, Beth was dead and Cameron was missing. They found Cameron's car 13 hours after Beth’s murder and near a bridge, police claimed she must have jumped off the bridge and committed suicide but despite an extensive search over several days, they found no trace of her and she has been missing ever since.

Brian Shaffer

Brian Shaffer was on a night out with friends to celebrate spring break, however later on during the night he got separated from them and his friends assumed he had gone home, he didn’t, he went missing and was never seen again. A security camera near the entrance to a bar recorded him for a short time talking to two women just before 2 am. That was all the footage recorded by the cameras and none of them showed him leaving the area, Columbus has the most security cameras of any city in Ohio, more than the Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Toledo combined and the police looked at the other bars cameras and found no sign of Shaffer. The weird thing is that there is no other publicity accessible entrance or exit to that bar at the time of Shaffer going missing. A friend of Shaffer’s who went out that night refused to take a lie detector test regarding the incident, Nobody has ever seen Brian Shaffer ever again.
